With over 6 million journeys a year, over 30 stations & over 40 miles of track, It has never being a better time to travel by rail through the 4 boroughs of South Yorkshire.

Over the years millions of pounds has been invested in the South Yorkshire rail network, delivering new and refurbished stations, along with innovative new services.

Services are currently operated under franchise by Northern Rail. Northern Rail took over the contract back in 2004 from Arriva Trains Northern. The standards of service and quality they meet are set and monitored by the South Yorkshire Passenger Transport Executive. Who continue to press for improvements to reliability and service performance.

TrainTracker and TrainTracker Text allow users to access real time departure and arrival information for trains throughout the national network by phone or text messaging.  Both can only give information on trains running on the day.

TrainTracker by phone is available by calling 0871 200 49 50 from any phone and following the voice instructions.

TrainTracker Text is available by texting 48 49 50 from a mobile phone.  Correct formatting must be used.
